February 5, 2024 (Atlanta, GA) – The American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC) today, celebrated five years of payments processing talent development with the announcement of its 2024 Future Leaders class. Participants represent a range of member companies, and areas of expertise from marketing to government relations and transformation.
The program kicks off on Feb. 21st in Atlanta with an examination of “Payments Technical Expertise.” The course provides an industry overview that helps class members understand the complexity of the four-party payments ecosystem and their place within it. These classes are particularly powerful because speakers come from the most-senior ranks of payments processing and fintech companies.
The ATPC Future Leaders program identifies and educates rising professionals primed to lead the payments processing industry across technological, institutional, business development, and workforce portfolios. This yearlong program is comprised of multiple networking and educational activities designed to enhance the future success of ATPC member and sponsor company rising professionals. ATPC is a government relations and economic development organization supporting payments processing industry visibility and growth. That’s why the Future Leaders Program expands industry knowledge, creates onramps to government and regulatory engagement, and develops leadership skills.
“Our program has really come into its own in year five, which is reflected in the caliber of participants and the size of the class,” said Michael Mills, ATPC’s Chief Operating Officer and initiative leader. “ATPC member companies see this program as a critical tool to empower the next generation of leaders, and we take the responsibility of that seriously.”
Future Leaders classes have evolved the past several years and now include: Payments Technical Expertise; , Government Relations Primer and ATPC Capitol Hill Fly-In; Leadership Tools; and People Management. Participants are also invited to attend ATPC educational programs and receptions throughout the year. And the program offers opportunities for Future Leader alums to remain involved, from course planning to educational sessions, and attending networking events.
“Future Leaders pairs nicely with our support of the Georgia Fintech Academy as prime tools for identifying and activating the next generation pf payments talent,” said ATPC Executive Director H. West Richards. “It also provides an on-ramp to government relations and industry advocacy which is critical to ensure the payments industry is heard in Washington and state capitols across America.”
