The ATPC congratulates Georgia State Senator Brandon Beach on his recent nomination by President Trump to serve as U.S. Treasurer. The ATPC has worked with the senator for the past decade to advance the needs of Transaction Alley.
The ATPC organized a Payments 101 presentation in the Georgia Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee, which Beach chairs, on February 19th. The three panelists were hand-picked for this committee presentation and included: ATPC member Paulette Rowe, CEO of Stax Payments; long-time payments industry leader John Perry, CEO of Bluefin; and Chris Wasserman, CEO of Wasserman Talent. The panelists successfully underscored the important role that the payments industry plays in Georgia’s economy. There were 11 senators in attendance including several other chairmen serving on other Committees. No other committee is better positioned to promote our industry as a priority than this one.
The session led to a request from Higher Education Committee chair, Max Burns (a former Congressman and state college president), to arrange a Georgia FinTech Academy briefing.
Beach, a Republican, was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2013 to represent District 21, which includes parts of Cherokee and Fulton counties – and includes the northern arc of Transaction Alley.
He also serves as President and CEO of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and president and CEO of the North Fulton Community Improvement District.
Beach recently told Fox News Digital that, “while I embark on this new chapter, I will never forget where I came from, and I remain forever grateful for the people and principles that have shaped my journey.” We trust this knowledge will include the information we’ve shared over the years about the critical role our industry plays in the American economy.
Beach helped secure more than $30 million in new infrastructure to the area, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development. And he currently serves on the Regional Business Coalition, Grady Hospital Board of Visitors, Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Encore Park, and the Historic Roswell Convention and Visitors Bureau.
